F.A.Q's

Here are some of our most frequently asked question.....

Q: What if I don't want to book through you but need some information such as disabled access, childcare or suggestions of suitable venues?

A: Ask us just for holiday consultation. For £25 we will try to find the information you need and could offer you up to 5 options for your holiday. If you then ask us to book for you this will become part of your deposit. (To pay your deposit please click on the orange button in the main menu to your left)

Q: Do you have a brochure like other Tour Operators provide?

A: No, because we are not like other Tour Operators and therefore do not have a glossy brochure for you to browse through. We do not have 'places to fill'. The World is your Brochure. What we offer is a Tailor-made Service. We find out where YOU want to go to and find suitable accommodation and resorts to suit you. Whether travelling as an individual, family, group home or with a friend/carer, we will ask for details on what support or equipment you may need so we can reserve services that are right for you, to have a comfortable, safe and enjoyable holiday.

Q: What information do I need to give you so you can find a holiday place for me?

A: We have an enquiries form that we can post or e-mail to you. When you have filled this in, this tells us what you like to do on holiday, how much you want to spend and what needs you have, so we can find a place to suit you.

Q: What do I need to have, to travel abroad?

A: A current passport with at least 6-month validity, E111 if travelling to an EEC country, Travel Insurance, depending on the travellers' disability you might require a doctors letter stating fitness to travel and in some cases a visa for entry to your destination country.

Q: What do I need to travel within the British Isles?

A: If you are flying you will need to have your passport or Government Issue Identification such as an ID card or Drivers Licence. If travelling by coach, train, car or minibus all you need is luggage, any personal specialist equipment, booking details or tickets for coach, train and hotel accommodation, and money. We recommend cancellation insurance.

Q: If I live independently and don't have a full time carer can I travel alone?

A: This depends on your personal needs, if you have a friend or relative who could support you and travel with you why not invite them along? If you require a lot of support on a daily basis it is advisable to invite a regular carer or support staff to come with you, or ask us to support you on your holiday.

Q: My family wish to have a holiday and a family member has a disability, can we employ a part time carer for the duration of the holiday to give us a break?

A: Holidays With Access could help support you. We have experience working with adults with various disabilities especially Epilepsy. You could ask one of us to accompany you and arrange set times where we take on the care of your disabled family member. It would mean all our travel arrangements and expenses would have to be included. Call us to discuss this.

Q: Do you offer a nannying service or child minding for my disabled child at our holiday destination?

A: We don't offer this type of service, as we are not qualified to look after children. You could look at alternatives like those in the question and answer above or we could enquire in resort for you, as part of a consultation for which there is a deposit of £25. (To pay your deposit please click on the orange button in the main menu to your left)

Q: How soon will I have to pay for my holiday?

A: Final payments should be made 12 weeks before travel. For bookings within that time, full payment will be required to secure the booking. For bookings outside 12 weeks before travel, the deposit will vary with the suppliers' requirements. Bookings made with Travel Counsellors are covered by the Travel Counsellors Trust. Please see the website for more information or call us to request a guide to the trust Fund.
