Advice

Please read this section carefully. It is very important if you have any impairment, special equipment, medicines, or if you are travelling alone. Newly imposed security measures can upset your holiday if you are not organised and prepared. There are a few things that you need to do and think about before you go.

DOCUMENTS
If travelling abroad, please ensure that your passport(s) have at least 6 months left before they need renewing, that any medical documentation needed from a Doctor has been asked for, or you have it signed. Also please ensure that all required visas have been obtained. (Important if you are a carer from outside the UK travelling with clients.) Make copies of your Passport, Insurance Policy, European Health Card, 24hr Emergency number, ticket details, and an itinerary of your trip to leave with family /friends. Also leave a way of contacting you, such as e-mail or mobile.

SECURITY
With the new security controls imposed, you may have to carry medicines, gels, or liquids in your hand luggage. (A letter from your Doctor stating that you need these things in your hand luggage is recommended) Always try to carry the medicines in the original packaging from the chemists, with the prescription label.

INSURANCE
As with all holidays, cancellation insurance is necessary.
Even if you have pre-existing conditions, if they are well controlled, insurance can be found. Even if your medical conditions are not so well controlled, insurance can still be found, it takes a little longer, and costs a little more, but it can be done.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR REQUIREMENTS
Ensure that you are honest with yourself, and us, about what you really need to be safe and comfortable on your holiday. If you ask us, it can usually be found. Don’t suffer in silence; ask us for what you need.
